Raw Berry Buckwheat Porridge

April 24, 2014 by Lottie

When it comes to breakfast its safe to say I have been on a smoothie kick . I love structure, and not a fan of change. But I just wasn’t feeling satisfied after a smoothie, and the weather has gotten warmer so oatmeal wasn’t too appealing either. This lead me to Buckwheat porridge, oh and the best part it takes minutes to prepare. And whats breakfast if you are not sneaking in a vegetable someway or another. Feel free to switch up the fruit or add fun toppings I kept it pretty simple, cant wait to experiment further! By soaking the buckwheat overnight you are getting rid of enzymes, making it easier to digest! A great easy on the go breakfast!

Recipe:

1/4 Buckwheat groats

1 Cup of shredded zucchini

1/2 Cup Mixed berries

1/4 cup Califia Farms toasted coconut milk

1 Tablespoon coconut flakes

1 Tablespoon of Philosophie Berry Bliss /Maca Powder (optional)

Dash of vanilla

Dash of cinnamon

Topping ideas:

Mixed berries

Coconut

Nut butter

Raw nuts/seeds

Banana

Dried Fruit

Directions: Soak buckwheat groats overnight in filtered water. Rinse in the morning, using a strainer. Take Buckwheat, zucchini, 1/2 cup of your berries, Califia Farms toasted coconut milk, coconut flakes, Berry Bliss, Vanilla, Cinnamon. Blend until well combined, and serve! Top with whatever topping you like!
